The Livery Film Fest is made up of a group of film-loving volunteers supported by the Goderich Little Theatre, the non-profit community group which owns the historic Livery Theatre. They are also associated with the TIFF Film Circuit, dedicated to bringing national and international films to communities across Canada.

From September to April, one Thursday per month, the Livery Film Fest is fortunate to be able to rent one of two cinemas at the Park Theatre in downtown Goderich to premiere their film of the month.

How do they choose which film to show? Well, that is wonderfully complicated! Volunteers read many reviews, watch shorts, make recommendations to each other and ultimately decide on a film they feel tells a good story and offers value to the audience. It might be funny, thought-provoking, scary, exciting - or all of the above! Most of all, they hope you find it entertaining.

Skip The Line Movie Passes Back by popular demand, we will be selling Skip the Line Passes! The Skip The Line Movie Pass functions much like a Flex Pass, with the added bonus of skipping the line at any Livery Film Fest screening. Skip Passes will be available at $35 for GLT Members and $40 for non-members. These tickets will be available for purchase at the Livery Office during office hours, and outside of the Park Theatre before screenings.

Blue Moon is the next film presented by the Livery Film Fest for one night only! Save the date, Thursday, January 29th, to see Blue Moon, a contender for Best Motion Picture in the Musical and Comedy category at the Golden Globe Awards and watch for Oscar nominations as well.
Blue Moon is a biographical drama starring Ethan Hawke as Lorenz (Larry) Hart, best known as the lyricist half of the celebrated songwriting duo Rodgers and Hart. Together, they created timeless standards including “The Lady Is a Tramp” and “My Funny Valentine.”
The film unfolds on March 31, 1943, during the opening night of the Broadway musical “Oklahoma!”. By this time, composer Richard Rodgers has paused his partnership with Hart due to Hart’s alcoholism and increasing unreliability. Bitter and wounded, Larry makes sly, caustic jabs at the show’s success—particularly at the lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, Rodgers’ new collaborator.
As the evening wears on and the party disperses, Hart is left behind to commiserate with the bartender and the piano player he affectionately calls “Knuckles.” Along the way, he makes an awkward and unlikely pass at a college student half his age and has a chance encounter with author E. B. White, whom he encourages to write a children’s story about a mouse named Stuart.
Director Richard Linklater has crafted one of his finest dramatic comedies—a poignant and often wry exploration of artistic fragility—anchored by a remarkable and deeply human performance from Ethan Hawke.
