Sponsored by Second Streetlight Estate Winery
AUDITIONS
7:00 pm
Tuesday August 15
Wednesday August 16
Thursday August 17
We are particularly looking for people able to sing parts, ages 16 and up. Though not a musical, but rather a ‘cosy’ mystery, Christmas in the Highlands will feature Scottish traditional songs and Christmas carols, along with the skirl of the pipes and men in kilts and red herrings.
Performance dates are Thursday November 30 to Sunday December 3 and Friday December 8 to Sunday December 10.
Rehearsals will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons beginning in late September.

A thoroughly modern play, set in London 1601, nearing the end of the reign of Elizabeth I.
Performances will be the last week of February and first week of March, 2024 at The Livery Theatre
There are roughly 20 roles. Most of the parts are written for males; however, in keeping with the themes of sex and gender, many can be played convincingly by players of any sex. The play is not a musical, but does present opportunities for music of the period; so, we encourage singers, musicians and dancers to try out.
As part of your audition, you will be asked to play a character with script in hand. Prepared performance pieces are not required but welcomed.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE PLAY
It’s Shrove Tuesday, 1601. Robert, the Earl of Essex is to be beheaded in the morning for leading a rebellion against the crown. Queen Elizabeth I, widely supposed to be his lover, caught by political forces she cannot overcome, awaits the morning with dread. She "requires distraction” and has commanded a performance of Much Ado About Nothing. Afterwards, she joins Shakespeare and his company overnight in the barn, to wait out the curfew. What follows is a confrontation among three great minds on the nature of power, love, sex, and gender.
The play will be advertised as mature content.

WORK COMPLETED AT THE LIVERY

Thank you for your patience as the Livery was ‘under construction’ in July. We are thrilled with the meticulous work done outside on the stonework and inside strengthening the stage decking and widening the back stage stairs. And thank you to Ray and Dulce Vanasse, whose generous gift helped to make the work happen!
